I’m the curriculum writer behind Spectacular Science, and I’m so glad you’re here!
If you teach middle or high school science and want engaging lessons without spending every night planning and reinventing the wheel, you’re in the right place.
I’m a former science teacher turned full-time curriculum writer, creating the resources I always wanted in my classroom: hands-on, rigorous, easy to implement, and genuinely engaging for students.
But first, here’s a little about the person behind Spectacular Science.
A Little About Me
I’m a mom of two—Mason and Samantha. Samantha joined our family in May 2026, and Mason is now a proud big brother and Pre-K kid. Life these days is a mix of curriculum writing, school drop-offs, baby snuggles, reheated coffee, and forgetting why I walked into a room. 😂
I’m also married to my childhood sweetheart, and somehow we’ve gone from growing up together to raising two little humans.
A few other things you should know about me: I love Trader Joe’s, coffee, yoga, chocolate ice cream, and finding unnecessarily good organizational systems. I live in Florida now, but I’m a New Yorker at heart.
And, of course, I’m a total science nerd.
How Spectacular Science Started
My journey in science education began in 2010. Over the years, I taught Earth and Space Science, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, and Science Research.
I worked with students at many levels, from college prep and honors to gifted students and students with special needs. Those experiences continue to shape the resources I create today.
I know a lesson can look great on paper and still flop with actual middle or high school students. I also know the difference between something that’s technically “teacher-friendly” and something that truly saves time.
After leaving the classroom, I became a Dean of Students, gaining a broader perspective on education and everything teachers balance beyond the lesson plan.
Then, after becoming a mom, I stepped away from school-based work and poured my experience into Spectacular Science.
What began as creating science resources has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of: full-year curricula, labs, engineering challenges, simulations, projects, guided notes, assessments, and classroom activities used by science teachers far beyond my own classroom.

My goal is simple:
Help science teachers spend less time planning and more time teaching.
I create resources that are engaging without being fluff, rigorous without being overwhelming, and practical enough for real classrooms.

Whenever I create something, I think about the teacher with six other things happening at once.
Is it clear? Is it useful? Will students engage with it? Most importantly, will it make a teacher’s life easier?
If the answer isn’t yes, it needs more work.

One of my favorite parts of building Spectacular Science has been connecting with other science teachers.
Through my website, email list, and social media, I share new resources, classroom ideas, seasonal activities, freebies, behind-the-scenes peeks, and little pieces of my life.
I want this space to feel less like a resource catalog and more like having another science teacher in your corner—the one who sends you an activity and says, “Here. I already made this. You don’t need to plan tonight.” 💙
