This presentation focuses on the following essential question, “Why are we considered a solar system?”
Students learn about the sun, terrestrial planets, jovian planets, dwarf planets, The Kuiper Belt, The Oort Cloud, moons of the solar system, asteroids, meteoroids, comets and their tails, space exploration and discoveries, the potential for habitable environments, geocentric vs. heliocentric models, the solar system data chart, etc.
The presentation is estimated to take approximately 30 minutes of class time. Guided notes are included for students to fill in while listening to and following along with the presentation. Practice questions are included at the end of the presentation to reinforce the newly introduced topics and skills.
