This student-led activity addresses the following essential question, “What considerations are imperative when planning on a piece of undeveloped land?”
Students step into the roles of land-use planners tasked with transforming Muir Valley to support a population of 10,000 people while preserving its ecological integrity. Through map-based planning and critical decision-making, students will explore the intricate balance between human development and environmental conservation. They will tackle essential questions about minimizing habitat destruction, maintaining biodiversity, and enhancing the quality of life for both residents and the valley’s native flora and fauna.
