This presentation focuses on the distinguishing characteristics of glaciers.

 

Students learn how glaciers form, different types of glaciers, how glaciers cause erosion, and identifying components of glaciers. Students are introduced to the following vocabulary terms: valley glaciers, continental glaciers, striations, grooves, till, erratics, moraines, kettles, drumlins, kames, arete, cirque, eskers, outwash, etc.

 

The presentation is estimated to take approximately 25 minutes of class time. Guided notes are included for students to fill in while listening to and following along with the presentation.
