This presentation focuses on the following essential question, “How does the tilt of Earth’s axis and Earth’s movement cause seasons?” Students learn about the tilt of Earth’s axis and the impact of that tilt, direct vs. indirect insolation, equinoxes, solstices, seasons and sunlight, seasons in hemispheres, the sun’s path, the importance of seasons, hemispheric differences, climate and geography, etc.
The presentation is estimated to take approximately 30 minutes of class time. Guided notes are included for students to fill in while listening to and following along with the presentation. Practice questions are included at the end of the presentation to reinforce the newly introduced topics and skills.
